He was the chief resident of the Department of Ophthalmology at the Georgetown University Medical Center. He is affiliated with the INOVA Fairfax/Woodburn/Healthplex surgical facilities.

Dr DiPaolo is board certified by the American Board of Ophthalmology and is a fellow of the American Academy of Ophthalmology and the American Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgeons.
